Jim Clare

songwriter, folk

The Kingston Trio, Peter, Paul & Mary, and a road trip to the 1963 Newport Folk Festival were the catalysts that hooked Jim on folk music. Of his song writing Jim says, "I try to write simple songs about life, that listeners will want to sing and play themselves."
And while that may be a good description of Jim's song writing intentions, listening to his recently released "Old Empty Hall" suggests his work holds rich variety for the listener.

Allen Hopkins

folk

Initially attracted to the 'folk revival' sounds of Joan Baez, the Kingston Trio and Bob Dylan, Allen became more interested in traditional American bluegrass and blues. Since 1970 Allen has been performing a variety of acoustic styles including old-time country, bluegrass, blues, Celtic, and klezmer. In Angelica Allen will present an evening of traditional music from the Civil War era. He'll be playing guitar, banjo, concertina, and perhaps some mandolin and harmonica. We're pleased that he is participating in the Civil War Re-enactment Weekend.

Ray Baumler and
Sue Tennenbaum

folk

Several years ago, Sue walked into a meeting of the Golden Link Folk Singing Society and sang a couple of songs a cappella.  Ray liked what he heard and asked to accompany her.  That was the beginning of their friendship and musical collaboration. A few of the venues where they have performed include the Genesee Country Village, Greece Historical Society, Park Ave. Fest and Turtle Hill Folk Festival. Ray hosts the radio show "A VARIETY OF FOLK" Saturday mornings over 88.5 WRUR-FM Rochester and 90.1 WITH-FM Ithaca. They will add the perfect touch on Saturday evening during the Civil War Weekend in Angelica.

Ernie and Andy Lawrence are folk musicians.  Their music has deep roots in blues, jazz, old country and gospel music.  This father-son duo has been playing clubs, coffeehouses and festivals around western New York for the last 2 years.  Both fellows play acoustic guitars and both sing, featuring big harmonies.  Their relationship as family introduces an interesting chemistry into their performances and musical craft.
