IT’S NOT OVER ‘TIL IT’S OVER
by Sally Ann Miller

April snowstorm, squalling May Day, mayday
quashed in the wind.
Yellow spikes of forsythia,
forced inside, are the only ones spared.
Daffodils, in full bloom on my garden flag
fly horizontal, snap furiously.

So, does she.
His, a complaint of the hip;
Hers, the knee;

LET THERE BE
by Catherine LoCicero Anderson

Tis the day to celebrate
   the wedding of Heaven and Earth
So it is written in Druid lore.
A great power is unleashed from the Sun
   to warm the Goddess, Mother Earth.
The sun gleams over the horizon
   from the East as the birds proclaim
Let summer begin.

MY TOOL

A feather from a bird,
Is so light.
As I hope, are these words,
With it I write.

How it works -
Poets and poetry-lovers of all ages and levels of experience are invited to read or recite their own work, or the work of an admired poet. Our theme for February 21 is "the unknown". But any topic is welcome. As readers arrive and sign in, Mr. Clow will read a few poems to get things started. Each poet may initially read several pieces (approximately 5-10 minutes total per poet), or more if time permits.

Join host Christopher Clow for an intimate evening devoted to the performance of poetry at Black-Eyed Susan Acoustic Café, 22 W. Main St. in Angelica.

"Poetry is, after all, language set on fire."
Emma

A fine venue for live music with great food and drinks at
22 W. Main Street, Angelica, NY.

Be sure to visit our favorite bake shop, ice cream parlor and candy store, the
Angelica Sweet Shop.
